Craft Rooted in Nature, Elevated by Curiosity
Raised in the quiet countryside of Pennsylvania, Kelly grew up with a deep appreciation for rural life—the changing seasons, the scent of orchards in bloom, and the satisfaction of working with your hands. After serving in the U.S. Air Force and building a career in engineering and technical sales, he eventually found his way back home, where the pull of the land—and the craft—was too strong to ignore.
What began as a backyard passion for crafting small-batch hard cider soon evolved into a deeper exploration. Kelly, now known as the Alchemist, dove into the worlds of hard cider, pear cider (perry) and mead-making—drawn to both not only for their rich histories, but because they celebrate what grows close to home. Apples, pears, honey, and wild fruits—all deeply rooted in the region—became the foundation of his creative blends.
Alongside him is his wife, Jodi, who shares his love for the craft and brings her own gift—connecting with people and building community around a shared table. Together, they founded Red Tail Alchemy with a mission: to honor their rural roots while showcasing the incredible local ingredients and flavors that make their corner of Pennsylvania special.
Today, Red Tail Alchemy is more than a brand—it’s a labor of love, guided by curiosity, inspired by the land, and crafted to be shared with neighbors near and far.
